Common troubles in downloading our ROC software

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM POSSIBLE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM SUGGESTED SOLUTION
After registration there is no download page, or the download page blinks without showing any file or without allowing one to download the files, or something similar to the previous 2 examples Some settings on your browser are such that they conflict with a firewall or equivalent device. Most likely event (~95% of events in the last 6 months) Most likely  the FTP connection is not set to "PASSIVE FTP". So far, we have encountered this problem only with Explorer Under Windows. Here is how you might be able to fix it:

Go to "Tools" on the menu bar and select "Internet Options". There select "Advanced". Then under the "Browsing" category, check "Use Passive FTP (for firewall and  DSL modem compatibility)".  After that, try again to download.

Some router is down or some firewall is "acting up" (~5% of events in last 6 months) Sometimes we have seen problems which seemed to originate somewhere on the internet between our server and the user's machine. Typically waiting at most a couple of days solves the problem. If this does not happen, check with your System Manager and/or us to find out where the problem is
The FTP site is down or Server is down. This is an unlikely event (1% of events in the last 6 months) Report it to us and wait until we restore the site functionality
Cannot download the executables from the web site Your own firewall settings do not allow you to download executables or to download executables from our web site Talk with your system manager and find a way to work around your system security  to allow yourself to access our site

E-mail to us with questions/suggestions about this Section.

Please, make sure that when you report a problem you provide us with the following information:

  1.  What operatiing system and browser you were using

  2. At what web page did the download process stop and what was the error message or what exactly happened

  3. Why this was different from what you expected (sometimes the answer to this question is obvious)
